Auntie GEE hometown - Kemaman Day3

Day 3 at Kemaman, time to pack and go back home. Our breakfast was Nasi Dagang, Nasi Minyak and Nasi Kunyit at auntie Gee's father sundry shop. Auntie Gee's mom bought the rice from the market at early morning. The drink was Teh BOH. Thanked Auntie Gee's mom and father.

After breakfast (should be brunch), Auntie Gee was very busy packing her lunches and dinners for coming whole week. Daddy suggested Auntie Gee to change her car to a van. :D  We started our journey back to PJ near noon time.

Kemaman, Bye-Bye!!!!

Oh no!!! The air-conditioner started not working. No cool air under hot sun on highway!!!
However, we had opportunity to experience Auntie Gee's F1 driving skill on her Proton Putra, especially near the exit to Genting. Before going up-hill, Auntie Gee started full acceleration to keep the momentum to climb up hill. Then Auntie Gee did not slow down at down hill to keep the momentum as next was up-hill again. Truely excited!!!

Auntie GEE hometown - Kemaman Day2

The accommodation at Kemaman definitely is auntie Gee's sweet home - A double-stories link house, which is nice, fully renovated, warm, clean and tidy. The room comes with air conditioner, a double bed and a single bed, attached bathroom equipped with hot water, a dim-light and free-flow of RO drinking water. And the most important is Internet accessible that allows daddy and mummy logging into Facebook - Tiki Resort to collect money.....
Auntie Gee's car "PUTRA 633" managed to bring us from PJ to Kemaman safely and comfortably. However, auntie Gee decided to use her father car today. I liked auntie Gee's father car very much and left some lovely memory (vomit & urine) to mark "I'm being on this car", causing daddy and mummy to buy a Freeze to clean-up .

Orchid flower plant by auntie Gee's father and the fish pond by her mother.

Today we started with Kemaman local breakfast - Curry noodle with a fish and kelopok keping and Kemaman Kopi. Auntie Gee brought us to a small stall called Kedai Kopi Tin Kam Leng, which located at behind of  Kedai Perabot Hong Loong on main road. The stall was packed with locals and tourists to taste this Kemaman unique breakfast. It taste like Penang Hokkien / Prawn noodle. The Kemaman Kopi tastes slightly bitter. The famous Kemaman Kopi is from Hai Peng Kopitiam.

Daddy mummy drank Kopi, I drank Milo.

After the breakfast, we went to Auntie Gee's father sundry shop to drink fresh pandan coconut drinks. Auntie Gee's father gave me Vitagen and sweets. Our next attraction was Kemasik Beach, about half hour drive from Kemaman. On the way to Kemasik Beach, we have passed by Auntie Gee's college that she obtained her Diploma - Kolej TATi. The college is at the middle of nowhere - the reason of Auntie Gee could concentrate study and achieved good result.

Kemasik Beach is a small fishing village. We reached the beach about 11.30am, almost noon time. But, we could witness several fishermen back from catching fish, unloading their fish to the beach, selling fish and anchoring their boats.

The two iconic Rocks at Kemasik beach provides safe beach to anchor fishing boats. And a beautiful scenery for photo shooting a pretty, energetic, care, helpful, generous young girl - Auntie Gee. She is still single and available!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After strolling along the beach, we backed to car, washed our feet with RO water. Before turning back to main road, we stopped at a Malay stall to buy Auntie Gee's favorite Pisang Goreng. Our next destination is Kerteh. We took a rest at Mesra Mall because the weather so hot, we wanted to cool down. There are Giant supermarket (they called TMC at Terengganu), branded retail outlets such as Toys R Us, Apple Donuts, Burger King, Starbucks, Secret Recipe, Popular bookstore, Factory Outlet and etc. There are also futsal court and bowling alley. The cinema is not yet opened. This Mesra Mall is built primary for the Petronas staffs.  We took our lunch at food court - Chicken rice and Char Siew rice. It is popular dish (many people ordered), halal and taste much much better than the Chicken Rice Shop.

After cooling down in Mesra Mall for about an hour, we continued our journey to have a look on Petronas operations at Kerteh. It is overseeing the oil platform operations off the state's coast as well as petrochemicals production and crude oil refining. It is huge area and no photo shooting (Why??? Don't know).

Next, we made a U-turn back to Kemaman. Auntie Gee drove us to Awana Kijal Resort and then stopped at another Malay stall to buy deep fried Sotong as sneak. We then drove pass a heavy industrial area, where Perwaja Steel factory located. We saw an oil platform docked at the coast.

We backed to Auntie Gee's father shop, refilled RO water and then proceed to our local food hunting - Kemaman Kopi of Hai Peng and then Keropok Lekor, Satar, Otak-otak and Pais.  We reached at a Malay stall about 4pm. The stall was packed with people (Must be famous, did not capture the stall name). We found a place to sit and ordered sepasang Satar, sepasang Otak-Otak, sepinggan Lekor and sepinggan Pais, and drink Kelapa Laut.

Next destination was Cherating Beach. Mummy and daddy forgot to bring umbrella to the beach, thanked auntie Gee helped to blocked the sunlight.

At beginning, I scared of beach and waves. I was unable to stand firmly, but slowly getting use to it. And found it fun to play at beach !!!

It was 6pm, time to go back for dinner. Before leaving, we drove to the famous Club Med resort, but could not enter into the resort as they don't allow outsiders entering to their compound. Anyway, we discovered there is a turtle sanctuary, beside of the Club Med. And we were very fortunate. We managed to visit the sanctuary at 6pm+ as it normally close at 5.30pm

The turtle sanctuary was our last attraction of this trip. Time to go back auntie Gee's sweet home. Her mom had cooked dinner for us. She cooked 鲍鱼猪肚汤, 猪脚醋 and asam prawn. All dishes were very nice. And the drink was fresh pandan coconut drink. Thanked auntie Gee's mom.

Auntie GEE hometown - Kemaman Day1

Friday 28-May is Vesak Holiday, followed by weekend Saturday and Sunday. So, it is a total of 3-days holidays, and we follow Auntie Gee going back hometown as our vacation. Hurray!!!

Planned to depart at 9am, but there was a delay. We departed about 11am, after taking our breakfast at PappaRich Kopitiam at Uptown. Auntie Gee drove. Departing from Uptown, she drove along LDP towards Kepong, then merged to MRR2. After that, she took KL-Karak highways. At here, I started my nap. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!

When I woke up, I was exiting from Lebuhraya Pantai Timur to a small town called Gambang near Kuantan. We took our late lunch at this small town. Auntie Gee ordered her sister favorite 枸子炒番薯叶, steammed kampung chicken and fried egg. After lunch, we proceeded to our first attraction of this vacation - WATERFALL. Auntie Gee drove into a small road, passed  by a quarry. Haha... Auntie Gee said should be the right route towards the waterfall since seeing a car at front of us.

At end of the road was the entrance to the waterfall. Thanked to Auntie GEE's brother leading us the right route to WATERFALL. Entrance fee was RM2 per adult, I was free.

The handsome guy is Auntie GEE's brother.

Waterfall??? Not yet, need to walk further in.

Hurray!!! Waterfall ....

Hanging bridge

Why no cooling effect at this waterfall???

Next destination was Kuantan, capitol of Pahang state. Auntie GEE drove us around the town - the main street, the second street, .... Then we went to visit the mini ZOO. We found a pair of black bears, dears, monkeys, rabbits, buaya, and etc. We had spent some time at this zoo. Afterwards, we visited Teluk Cempedak beach. Too bad, no photos as the camera battery exhauted.

We continued our journey to Auntie GEE hometown - Kemaman, about an hour drive from Kuantan. It was 6pm++ and Auntie Gee's parent was waiting us for dinner. On way to Kemaman, we passed by Cherating. We were entering Terengganu state.

We reached Auntie Gee's hometown about 7pm++. We quickily took bath, then went for dinner. Auntie GEE's father ordered the Kemaman speciality - Stuffed Crab 酿蟹 (Cooked crab meat is extracted from shell and fried together with ingredients such as eggs, onions, spring onions, garlic and parsley. The mixed paste is then filled back to the crab shell, covered with egg white and deep fried. It’s served with chilli sauce). The famous restaurant is Tong Juan 东源酿蟹. But we ate at next door, Auntie Gee's regular restaurant which also can cooked the delicious stuffed crab. Thanked Auntie GEE's father for the dinner!!!!

Family Holidays at Cameron Highlands

Daddy planned a 3-days-2-nights family trip to Cameron Highlands on May 1st, Labour holidays.

We (daddy, mummy, 舅舅,舅妈,BQ and me) departed from PJ home, while 公公婆婆 departed from BM home. Then we met at Cameron Highlands. 阿姨 joined us there at evening. We stayed at a 3-bedrooms apartment called Desa Anthurium, at between Tanah Rata and Brinchang town.

We reached the Cameron Highlands late, about 4~5pm. 公公婆婆 were also late due to slow traffic at the Kea Farm area. Wow! 公公's Proton Wira car was full, filled up with fruits, biscuits, cooking ware, and etc. Once we checked-into the apartment, 公公婆婆 quickly prepared dinner - Steamboat. After dinner, we went to Pasar Malam at Brinchang town. It was nice to be 抱抱 by daddy/mummy during shopping around Pasar Malam. We ate strawberries with honey and 甜薯. Then we backed to the apartment, end of first day at Cameron Highlands.

On May 2nd morning, 公公婆婆 prepared the breakfast - fried bihun and sandwiches. After breakfast, we proceeded to our first attraction today - Tea Plantation. Aiyoh! It was a traffic jam after Brinchang town, on the way to the tea plantation.

What to do on traffic jam? Sayang BQ.

We stopped at a strawberry farm on the way, hoped the traffic eased after we visited the strawberry farm. We did not visited the strawberry farm, because need admission fee and the farm seem not very interesting. We were just visiting the farm souvenir shop, and tried the icy strawberry juice, tasted sour  because daddy n mummy asked not to add syrup. BQ tried the strawberry ice tube.

Naughty BQ was caught red handed. He was trying to pull the sneak from the rack.

Naughty BQ was playing with 公公 hat.

The traffic was improved slightly after we spent an hour at the strawberry farm. We continued our journey towards our destination - tea plantation. After Kea Farm area, the traffic improved significantly. The slow traffic was because of lots of people stopped their cars at the roadside of Kea Farm to buy vegetables, flowers and etc. Our car turned into the road to Boh Tea Plantation at Sungei Palas after the Kea Farm. The road towards the tea plantation is narrow and winding. Some parts of the road is very narrow, allowing only 1 car passing thru. Thus need to give honk to alert the oncoming traffic knowing there is a car coming. At the end of this narrow and winding road is the BOH Tea Centre.

Wow!! It was 12noon when reached at Boh Tea Centre. 公公婆婆 and 阿姨 did not followed us till the Boh Tea Centre. They stopped at Kea Farm. Took pictures with daddy and mummy at this nice tea farm scenery.

Oops! we came at wrong timing because the tea factory had no operation today due to May 1st holiday. We could not see how they processing the tea leaf from tea farm. But we found 2 monkeys!!!

Photos with 舅舅, 舅妈 and BQ.

We had spent about 1hour+ at the Boh Tea Centre. Felt hungry, went to Brinchang town for lunch. We had stopped at a bee farm, but BQ had slept on the way out from the tea plantation. Thus we did not visit the farm, only visit the store. We had KFC for late lunch. Then we went back to our apartment as all were tired.

Dinner was steamboat. After dinner, we went to experience the night life at Tanah Rata town. There are just few restaurants and mini-mart at the town. We stopped at the souvenir stalls and bought some souvenirs. This the end of our second day at Cameron Highlands.

Holidays passed fast, May3rd is the last day of our family trip at Cameron Highlands. After waking up, 公公婆婆 prepared the breakfast. Daddy, mummy, 舅舅 and 舅妈 started to pack. Before leaving Cameron Highlands, we took a family photo for memory.

And also not to left out the new member - may be my future 姨丈, on our family photo. He is 明杰 (諸音).

The End.
